The Afghanistan Peace International Studies Association (APISA) proudly participated in Refugee Week and World Refugee Day events held on 20 June 2026 in Perth, Western Australia.
Through its exhibition booth, APISA introduced its educational, research, social, and community-based initiatives aimed at promoting peacebuilding, human rights, education, dialogue, mental health awareness, and youth empowerment.
A key highlight of the exhibition was the presentation of a preliminary field report prepared by APISA’s research team on mental health challenges and suicide-related trends among Afghan youth. The report attracted significant interest from visitors, community members, social activists, and representatives of civil society organizations.
The APISA booth was established to support Afghan women, amplify the voices of the Afghan people, and raise awareness about the social and humanitarian challenges facing Afghanistan. The positive engagement of visitors demonstrated the importance of dialogue, cultural exchange, and community participation in fostering mutual understanding and social cohesion.
The booth was organized and coordinated by Ms. Jamila Amini, APISA’s representative in Australia and a member of the Association’s Founding Board and Board of Directors.
APISA extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Zahra Mohammadi, Ms. Sohaila Nayebi, Ms. Begum Khanom, and Ms. Sama Habibi for their valuable contributions to the organization and management of this event.
The Association also expresses its gratitude to Ms. Farida from Communicare and a dedicated advocate for women’s empowerment for her cooperation and support throughout the event. Special thanks are extended to Mr. Amir Mozaffari for generously providing financial support for this initiative.
Finally, APISA would like to thank all visitors, supporters, volunteers, and community members who visited the booth and contributed to the success of this meaningful occasion.
Refugee Week provides an important opportunity to recognize the resilience, contributions, and achievements of refugees around the world. APISA remains committed to promoting peace, education, human dignity, social inclusion, and evidence-based research in support of vulnerable communities.
